1962 Plymouth Sport Fury

Jim’s dad on April 1st. 1962 purchased this 1962 Plymouth Sport Fury new from Walter Sterns Chrysler Plymouth in East Cleveland, Ohio. It was originally a 361 Golden Commando powered car. It has been driven by Dad, Mom, Bob, Jim, Michele, and Joe Angelucci at various times in the 42 years we have owned the car. In 1971 Jim had the 361 engine blueprinted and went on to set an AHRA national record. When Joe turned 16 in 1980, he drove the car 'till someone crashed a red light and wiped out the front end of the Sport Fury. The car sat until Feb. 2002 when we finally realized that we were not ever going to fix it up ourselves and sent it up to Canada for a total rotisserie restoration. As long as we were into it, we decided to go with a Max Wedge engine. Joe found a correct date code 413 block and we picked up the other Max Wedge goodies at several Mopar swap meets. The car was restored as close to original as possible, with exception of the Max Wedge engine (a 62 Factory option for this car) and changing to a dual master cylinder for stopping safety.
